The impact of certain NBA players extends well beyond the defined territories of the game. Their playing style, character, way of living, and attitude influence future generations in an incomprehensible manner. Dennis Rodman was one such name on the list whose methods recently inspired Victor Wembanyama.
The San Antonio Spurs rookie’s new hairstyle resembled Rodman’s iconic look of the 90s. And because of that, the 19-year-old became a laughingstock for NBA analysts.

Wembanyama dyed his hair blonde with a patch of purple in the middle after getting drafted as the first-overall pick. He posted his new look on his Instagram, which took the NBA world by surprise. In a recent episode of Oddball with Amin Elhassan & Charlotte Wilder,?the hosts shared a laugh surrounding that.
“You look amazing,” Charlotte said mockingly before adding, “This is the hairstyle you need to take your game to the next level.” The NBA analyst mentioned that it “shows the fanbase how much you care”.?She went on to make fun of the color Victor used in his hair.
“Isn’t really a Spurs color,”?she highlighted, before jokingly saying, “but it could be now”. The columnist wrapped up, by stating, “You’re changing Spurs’ DNA.” Amin joined in soon after that, mocking Charlotte for interviewing Wembanyama on the draft day.

Spurs’ last season’s rookie Jeremy Sochan came on the court with a similar hairstyle. His look made the supporters recollect the memories of Dennis, even though his performances did not.
It could well be that the 20-year-old inspired his junior to follow in his footsteps. With time, it looks as though it is becoming a part of the Spurs’ culture.
