The 2022-23 NBA season was highly controversial for the Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant. Following his actions in May, the NBA suspended Ja for the first 25 games of the 2023-24 season. The suspension has given the 24-year-old a lot of time to reflect on his actions and improve his decision-making.

This off-season, Ja Morant has been in the lab and looks more focused and ready for his comeback. He declared his motive for the upcoming season using 3 strong words.

Ja Morant’s troubles began in March after he displayed a firearm while at a strip club on his Instagram live video. His actions were condemned by the fans, and NBA Commissioner Adam Silver had no option but to suspend the Grizzlies guard for 8 games without pay. The reason for his suspension stated by the NBA was detrimental conduct to the league. Two months after issuing a public apology, another Instagram video of Ja holding a firearm surfaced in May. This time it was inside a car with his close friends. Following Morant’s repeated offense, Adam Silver issued another suspension to the 2-time All-Star, this time for the first 25 games of the 2023-24 regular season. This 25 game suspension will cost Ja a whopping $7.6 million from his salary. Ja issued another public apology following the incident. The 24-year-old’s primary focus during his suspension will be his mental health and decision making.

After making some poor choices earlier this year, Ja looks more focused this off-season and is ready to make a strong comeback following his suspension. Ja Morant was seen working out in the gym in three different T-shirts with 3 strong words printed on each one.

“GRATITUDE”

“REBIRTH”

“ACCOUNTABILITY”

The 2-time All-Star looks ready to leave his off-court antics behind and work on his basketball skills. With this new 3-Word Mantra, Ja is ready for a fresh start.
