The internet was buzzing with excitement after Taylor Swift attended the Kansas City Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium. After she left the game with the tight end Travis Kelce, rumors about the two dating started to make rounds in social media. That wasn’t all, though. Following her appearance at the Chiefs’ Week 3 game, the sales of Kelce’s jersey went up by 400%. Now, she is set to compete with Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard to claim the New Balance throne.

After the Chiefs trashed the Chicago Bears 41-10, the NFL star and Swift were seen making their way to the ‘getaway car’.

In the viral video, Taylor was spotted wearing the New Balance 550 in the colorway of white, red, and black in support of the Chiefs. Many would argue that Taylor has the Midas touch because the NB 550 saw an instant increase in sales and traffic.

The shoes saw a 25% hike in revenue as per Complex in just a week after she was seen wearing them. Furthermore, the site traffic to New Balance 550 went up by 30%. Meanwhile, internet searches for the same model increased by 73%. The Taylor Swift effect is baffling. Swift does not even have a contract in place with the footwear giant, but she still might soon take over Leonard’s NB throne.

The Klaw turned down a four-year deal worth up to $22 million with the Jordan brand. He then inked a multi-year endorsement deal with New Balance in 2018. This deal successfully put the Boston-based brand on the map of the sneaker world again. His debut shoes, the Kawhi 2-Way Pack, included the OMN1S basketball shoe and the 997 Sport lifestyle silhouette.

The limited edition pack sold out within 30 seconds in Canada and in just half an hour in the USA. However, Taylor Swift’s decision to stake her claim to the New Balance throne might put his position in peril. However, recently, a veteran analyst known for his blunt and candid remarks thrashed the “fun guy“.

Veteran analyst called Kawhi Leonard the “worst superstar”

Leonard was asked about his thoughts on the new rule change in the NBA during the media day. He said, “I work out every day in the summertime to play the game, not to sit and watch people play. So no league policy is helping me to play more games.”

His unbothered response generated a slicing remark from Stephen A. Smith. He stated, “I’m dead serious when I say this. Kawhi Leonard is the absolute worst superstar that a team can have.” He further pointed out that Leonard has missed 147 out of 308 games. He then added that even though Leonard is one of the highest-paid athletes in the league, he puts zero effort into promoting the game.
