The Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors have officially kick-started their 2023-24 NBA season. Notably, the Dubs started off on a positive note, dominating the Lakers. On the other hand, in the absence of LeBron James and Austin Reaves, the LA side showed their potential with their youths. Especially the 20-year-old Max Christie lit up the Chase Center with his brilliance on the court. Impressed by his game, Anthony Davis showered him with praise during the press interaction inside the locker room.
This isn’t the first time where Christie attracted the NBA world’s attention to his side. In fact, he created waves right after the Lakers picked him in the 2022 draft. The rising star had an uncanny resemblance to the legend, Kobe Bryant. Unfortunately, it didn’t go well with some LA fans, as they expressed their intolerance via social media. However, within a year’s time, he turned it around with his performance in the preseason opener.

In the absence of LeBron James and Austin Reaves, the Lakers suffered a disappointing loss. However, on the brighter side, the LA side has found itself a rising star in Max Christie. The 20-year-old star came off the bench and dropped 15 points, most in the Lakers bench. Importantly, during the progress of the game, fans and analysts took to their social media and already started praising the young talent.
Following that, the Lakers center Anthony Davis also joined the club and showered praise. Since it’s a preseason warm-up game for the players, AD spent most of his time in the courtside, enjoying the action. As a person with a closer look at Christie’s game, he described him with a throw of words in the locker room interview. He said, “His ability a score, toughness, he defends… Ultimate confidence.”
Furthermore, AD stressed that the team would require the aggressiveness that Christie brings to the court.
Despite losing the game, the Lakers seem to have a strong balanced side ahead of the tournament.

A look at the Lakers roster
In the absence of King James and recent FIBA WC sensation Austin Reaves, the Lakers did an impressive performance. The three big names AD, D’Angelo Russell, and Rui Hachimura dropped 15, 15 and 12 respectively, playing less than 20 minutes.
In addition to it, the team had Gabe Vincent and Max Christie. So when Reaves and James join the squad, the team will definitely fancy their chance at the prize.
