26 Hours After Hinting at a Possible Move, Cryptic Tweets From $213,000,000 Bound Joel Embiid Fumes Sixers Fans: “Please Request a Trade”

Philadelphia 76ers faced another disappointing postseason. Since losing to the Boston Celtics, the team’s superstar players have been treading on rough terrain. While James Harden’s trade request seemed plausible, Joel Embiid’s recent cryptic messages seem to hint at his exit as well. This was a real blow for fans. After hinting at an exit, the MVP recently took to his social media with another cryptic message. However, this time around, fans swarmed the comments, attacking the star.  In his 7-season-long career, Embiid has only donned the Sixers jersey.

But after the addition of Harden to the Sixers in the 2021-22 mid-season, the team had new hopes for a title run. Eventually, it all came crashing down for the franchise and its fans when the superstars hinted at exiting the franchise. 

Joel Embiid sends another cryptic message

After a troubling finish to the 2022-23 season, James Harden reportedly wanted to quit the Sixers and play for the Los Angeles Clippers. While several reports suggested that Embiid tried convincing the Beard to stay, it seems that The Process himself is not intent on staying. During a recent interview with Maverick Carter, the 2023 NBA MVP expressed his hunger to win his first championship. Unfortunately for Philly fans, he made the statement with a twist.

Joel Embiid said, “Whether it’s in Philly or anywhere else. I just want to have a chance.”

Embiid signed a massive $213 million contract extension just last December! So he wouldn’t be a free agent until at least the 2027 season. While his works shocked the NBA world, 26 hours later, he came out with another cryptic message.

Embiid took to his Twitter and tweeted a couple of cryptic messages confusing his followers. The first tweet read, “I don’t have too many words!! It just doesn’t make sense.”

The second tweet consisted of just numbers, “138????”

Unfortunately for 76ers fans, James Harden might have company in looking for greener pastures than the city of Philadelphia.

Moreover, a senior ESPN reporter, Frank Isola, claimed that Lillard or Harden could end up with the Warriors considering the Chris Paul situation. Similarly, Embiid speculation has also begun floating around the league’s halls.

 While there isn’t any clarity on the hidden message in the tweet, hundreds of fans took to comments, attacking the star in frustration.

In response to the cryptic tweets, hundreds of fans flooded the comments section, attacking the star. The already-upset Sixers fans couldn’t bear another superstar hinting at his exit. One user said, “please request a trade i don’t wanna see you at the WFC next year.” 

Some fans didn’t hold back; accusing JoJo of flopping ‘138’ times.

Some sections of fans even requested the star to join their favorite franchises in the upcoming season. Perhaps rather optimistically.

A fan of LeBron James chimed in too.

This fan took a shot at the Sixers’ game 7 loss in the Eastern Conference semis.

Apart from spewing hate online, there’s not much fans of the Philadelphia 76ers can do at the moment. Unfortunately, they just have to wait until there are any official announcements.
