The famous James-Davis duo strikes again, but this time against each other! In an Instagram reel shared by the Lakers, LeBron James and Anthony Davis were competing in a three-point contest of sorts. This reel surfaced around the time the Lakers released their injury report before their match-up against the defending champions Denver Nuggets on Thursday, February 8th.
James shared the reel to his Instagram stories, and captioned it, “I’m down 15-12 right now! Won’t be down for long though“. This is during the three-point competition, part “27” as labeled by the L-Train. Considering how close Anthony Davis and James are, watching them compete against each other with some playful trash talk is a pretty fun treat for fans everywhere. LeBron even taunts Davis after making a three-point shot, saying, “He trying to go over there like I wasn’t locked, I stay locked, I’m locked!”
LeBron wasn’t wrong to call it part 27, as this is a regular occurrence, and fans love the camaraderie between the duo. Trash-talking in the practice camp is often seen as a way for players to build chemistry. Around four weeks ago, Davis won 5-4 over James.

As the Lakers prepare for the Nuggets to visit the city of Angels, they also have something else to look forward to. Kobe Bryant is receiving a statue outside the crypto.com arena, and the team would like nothing better than to celebrate the late Laker’s big day with a statement win over the defending champions.
The team will further celebrate the 5x champ by wearing the “Mamba Jerseys” that they wore during their 2020 championship run after his untimely demise.
