Apart from the improving their skills in the offseason, some stars worry about their 2k rating in the upcoming season. Similarly, this season, the NBA world took a whirlwind after the ratings for 2k24 surfaced the internet. While some had issues with their star’s rating, record rookie ratings for Victor Wembanyama caught fans’ attention. However, while debating the ongoing chaos, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas felt elated by his past 2k ratings. Notably, he only trailed behind stars like LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant and two others.

The 3x NBA All-Star had a triumphant 11-season-long NBA career. Even though he didn’t win a ring, he went on to improve himself after the season. Subsequently, he went on to win the Most Improved Player award for his consistent rise. He majorly represented the Washington Wizards and averaged 20.7 points on 552 outings. Later, after his retirement, he engaged in training future NBA stars, including King James’s son Bronny.

Even though a 2K rating doesn’t affect a player’s performance on the court, it still does have a mental impact on the players. Notably, Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson expressed his discontent with his 3-point shooting ratings. Following that, Gilbert Arenas, who didn’t consider 2K ratings as gold standards for an athlete, felt on top of the world when he learned about his past ratings.

In the recent episode of Gil’s Arena, the crew discussed the recently released 2K ratings and other NBA-related issues. Arenas’ host started off the debate by saying, “We dont care about what 2K says, we got our own research team that go above and beyond.” Further, he went on to ask Arenas to guess his rookie ratings. When he replied, “55,” the host surprised him with his numbers. Notably, he started his career at 66 ratings and went on to gradually improve to 76, 82, 84, 90,93, and 96 in the following years.
