So, after tieing Kyrie Irving down with a 3-year $120 million deal, the Mavs are definitely targeting a post-season run.
The management is moving a few pieces here and there to give Luka all the required assistance for next season. If the reports from Marc Stein are to be believed, JaVale McGee could depart the $3.3 billion worth team soon. The 35-year-old could turn into a free agent within the next couple of days, attracting interest from different NBA franchises.
The Mavericks are expected to waive-and-stretch veteran center JaVale McGee by the league's Aug. 31 deadline, league sources tell @TheSteinLine, barring an unforeseen trade that requires the inclusion of McGee's contract.

The center previously helped the Golden State Warriors achieve back-to-back championships. He then won another one with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020. So, the chances of him attracting offers from the top NBA teams can not be written off.
