The 2023 Lakers season is the stuff of legends. After barely making it to the play-in tournament, the team somehow managed to get to the West Finals. They defeated the Warriors and the Grizzlies on the way, both heavyweights. This iconic run paved the way for many memories and created an unforgettable season for the squad. Despite losing to the Nuggets in four straight games in the West Finals, the team could lift its head up.

In this vein, LeBron James joined one of his former teammates to celebrate a glorious moment.

Because of their disappointing 2022-23 Regular Season, the Lakers couldn’t make it to the top six and had to engage in a Play-in situation. Despite the overall disappointment, they were in a great groove, heading into the play-in game. During the last quarter of the season, they had lodged around 80% wins.

They encountered the Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in game. With about 20 seconds to go, the scores were tied. LBJ knew this was the moment to make a vital play. After an intense huddle, the team came up with a brilliant play.

After a time-out inbound situation towards their goal, LBJ asked Dennis Schröder to bring the ball from between the three-point line and the half-court of the other half. Then he asked him to hand over the ball around the half-court

Schröder brought the ball up and gave it to King James. The incredible Forward then created mismatches through multiple screen action. He made Taurean Prince play him all the way to the basket, magnetizing all defenders in the process.

As he got underneath the basket, he slipped in a lovely pocket pass to Schröder, who nailed a three-pointer.

This sparked huge celebrations. The sparkly Guard, who nailed the shot in the corner and was near the Timberwolves’ bench, taunted them through the “ice in veins” celebration. Meanwhile, LeBron froze near the half-court and held his left hand on his right hand, implying the “ice in veins” celebration. A silly foul by Anthony Davis helped Conley tie the matters. But in OT, red-hot Dennis made crucial lay-ups to seal the deal.

Three months after the event, the former Lakers Guard has now announced t-shirts that commemorate this moment.

Dennis Schröder’s neat business idea

The German player owns the That’s Tuff brand. In fact, he has used “That’s Tuff” in comments for a long time now. It works both as an advertisement and as a comment. Through his story, he announced that fans can now buy the “Freeze” t-shirt depicting the moment from three months ago.

He posted a story, writing,”@King James, the wait is over. Having a shirt with the best player who ever played this game is insane!!! Just a kid from Braunschweig. Bron & myself gonna make sure 50% of it gonna go to @Ipromise school. To help all the kids in Akron”.

On coming across this story, King James made sure to share this story on his IG. He wrote “Yessir!!! FREEZE 🥶LETS GO”. One of Schroeder’s stories reveals that the t-shirt sold out in just hours. Then, in another story, he asks James, “We almost sold out! Do we need to make more?”

As they think about this business decision, they won’t be a teammate for next season. The Guard signed a two-year $25 million deal with the Raptors and considering their lack of movement in free agency, can play a big role.
