Hours after an impressive win against the Minnesota Timberwolves at home, the Boston Celtics struggle to find buckets. On the Thursday night game, Giannis Antetokounmpo and his men went on a 25-0 run in less than six minutes stretch. It completely put the Celtics to sleep for the rest of the game, as they gave up early.

It has always been a cat-and-mouse game between the Milwaukee Bucks and Celtics ever since the Jayson Tatum-Giannis era. These two superstars completely changed the dynamics of the Eastern Conference, occupying the top shelves. And, when it comes to games against each other, there is always drama, but tonight Greek Freak’s men left no crumbs and dismantled the Celtics.

The Celtics had only an 8-point deficit, with only two minutes remaining on the clock. But, suddenly something switched on the Bucks’ team, they went bezerk on the visitors. They dropped 25 points without letting Jayson Tatum & Co have a single bucket. And it went on for six minutes.

Moreover, the Bucks’ rampage didn’t end as they collectively splashed bucket after bucket even after that run. At the same time, they executed a strong defense plan against the in-form Tatum to dry up his buckets. As a result, the Bucks took a massive 37-point lead by the end of the first half.

Following the break, the Celts had already given up, as they benched their front liners, and brought out the extras. In response to this early white flag, former NBA champ Kendrick Perkins expressed his disbelief on his X handle. He wrote, “Damn the Bucks made Joe and the Celtics Tap out the entire second half of a National Televised game?!!! This can’t be life.”

The Celtics HC Joe Mazzulla benched the Celts stars and put in Payton Pritchard, Sam Hauser, Oshae Brissett, and a few other extras on the clock. In short, he made the entire second half into garbage minutes.

Giannis Antetokounmpo leads Bucks’ rampage

The Celtics faced an unprecedented attack late in the first quarter and became unable to pick themselves up after that. Importantly, it wasn’t just a one-man show or two-man show that shut off the team, but a collective effort from the home side. Giannis and Damian Lillard did what they do best, but this time around, they had company. Bobby Portis played a huge role in the 25-0 run, dropping 13 points in his share. He ended the game with a team-high 28 points.

Apart from him, Brook Lopez, Khris Middleton, and Malik Beasley also equally contributed to ballooning the lead.
