Kyrie Irving, who recently inked a 3-year $120 million contract with the Dallas Mavericks, went out of his way to respond to an upsetting tweet on Tuesday. Irving kicked off his career as Cleveland Cavaliers? 1st overall pick. The 2011 Rookie of the Year went on to become an 8x NBA All-Star in the following years.?

Irving has made it to the All-NBA Team thrice. He?s picked up a championship title for the Cavs. And yet, critics credit his success to LeBron James. To this, a furious Irving tweeted a bold response, shocking the NBA world.?

Kyrie Irving lost his patience and fell for the barb talk. A tweet that?s been circulating on social media platforms really got to the newly recruited Mavs baller. It read in bold yellow letters, ?Kyrie Irving hasn’t had much success since leaving LeBron James.? Irving’s career timeline was mapped out beneath it.?

The tweet insinuated that Irving had very little success ever since he parted ways with LeBron James. The pair teamed up to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers. During their 3-year run, the duo won the 2016 championship.?

It?s not that Irving hasn?t been able to perform since he bid adieu to Cavs and James. However, he hasn?t been able to score a big win either. Chalk it up to luck or poor circumstance, but the fact remains: Irving never won another ring since then. Kyrie Irving also missed a lot of regular season games due to persistent injuries.

Hence, the premise of the tweet isn?t entirely untrue. Yet, the implication was enraging enough. Irving boldly replied, Pin this tweet and see what happens in the next few years.?

But while Irving took this tweet as a challenge, there are several others in the NBA realm who found it rather unnecessary.?

Kyrie Irving may have bit off more than he can chew

Veteran ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith said, ?Here is the problem that I have with the Kyrie quote though ?you as an individual can change those fortunes, you can’t you by yourself beat the Lakers? you need a team ?so if that’s the reality why talk because there’s nothing you can do.?

Since basketball is a game where team performance exceeds everything else, Stephen A. considers Irving?s response to be a tad premature. He is afraid that Irving has put the cart before the horse and may have to deal with the repercussions even if he excels this season.?
