However, Curry recently revealed that this tradition only came into place after his experience with some NBA greats, like LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.

Stephen Curry entered the league after having one of the most historic college basketball runs. The 9-time All-Star’s time with the Davidson Wildcats was nothing short of legendary. His college career shaped his path to NBA glory over time. However, he received some guidance from a few of the NBA’s greatest players back in the day.

In a recent interview with Complex, the 2x MVP talked about how some of the league’s greatest talents helped him in his basketball journey. “In college I finally got invites to LeBron’s camp, Steve Nash’s camp, Paul Pierce, Kobe. So I got to experience what that was like coming up and I wanted to have that for myself in a way that could reach these kids in an impactful way.” Curry revealed, discussing how their camps influenced his 8-year tradition.

When Curry signed with the sporting mogul, Under Armour, he was still an underrated guard on the Warriors roster. However, since his decision to sign with the company, he has only seen the greatest successes in his basketball journey. His heroic rise to the top has stunned everyone. However, he has never forgotten to give back to the basketball community.

Curry has had an 8-year-long tradition with Under Armour of running a basketball camp for young athletes. After revealing how the NBA legends influenced his tradition, he also talked about how Under Armour and himself have been running it over the years.

I think UA saw that from the jump, and this is our eighth year and that’s not by accident with everything that we have invested into this brand, this experience and continuing to try and get better and elevate this experience for these kids.” he said, talking about his basketball camps.

He further added “Four years ago we were able to understand what it means to service the women’s game….now you see how it is represented in this eighth edition with the talented young women that we have out here. So we have created an expectation on what it means to be at the Curry Camp, and hopefully we are around for the long run.
