Mark Cuban is very popular in the realm of basketball due to the wonders he did with the Dallas Mavericks. And as the former President of the USA, Barack Obama is an avid basketball enthusiast, Cuban and Obama got in touch. And in the GQ interview, Cuban recalled a hilarious moment with Obama. They asked him, “Who is the most unexpected contact in your phone?” He said, “I got a call from Obama, cool, talk to him. Yeah, da da da da da, Thank you Mr. President, da da da da. And so I go to switch back to basketball mode and I accidentally butt dialed, right? And I hear this voice, Hello?, like, Oh sh*t, I just butt dialed Obama. And then I like hung up and had to text him, Sorry, butt dial.”

The Mavericks were far from a basketball superpower before Cuban’s arrival. During the two decades prior to his ownership, the team had only won 40% of its games and had a 21-32 postseason record. Nonetheless, the Mavericks underwent a remarkable transformation in the decade after Cuban’s purchase. They won 69% of their regular-season games and qualified for the playoffs in all but one of those years. Under Cuban’s ownership, the Mavericks’ postseason record improved to 49-57, with the highlight being their first trip to the NBA Finals in 2006, when they barely lost to the Miami Heat.

Mark Cuban’s influence stretched beyond the playing field. Unlike many NBA club owners, we recognized Cuban for his enthusiasm and hands-on attitude. They eventually settled the case in 2011, with Cuban’s club management cleared following the Mavericks’ triumph in the 2011 NBA Finals.  Mark Cuban was never afraid to express his thoughts or make bold judgments.
