Fans around the league eagerly waited for Ja Morant to come back, especially Memphis Grizzlies fans. But one person who was even more eager for Morant to step back onto the hardwood floor was none other than his mother.
Ja Morant had an amazing game after serving his long suspension. Moments after the game, Morant went on to reveal the chat he had with his mother, showing that he was locked in from the get-go.
Ja Morant’s mom never doubted him

The Grizzlies took care of business, defeating the New Orleans Pelicans in a close game. The world got to see Ja Morant back in action, but his debut this season was capped off with a game-winning buzzer-beater shot as well.
While many may have doubted Morant and his ability to perform, the two-time All-Star wasn’t fazed at all. In fact, Morant wasn’t fazed at all prior to the game and had a message for everyone after his thrilling performance.
Moments after the game, Ja Morant texted his mother. His mom’s texts read, “Yes sir”, followed by “Never doubted you.” To that, Morant replied, “Tell ‘em I’m coming ma.” Followed by a 100 emoji and “Love you.” Morant shared the exchange of texts between him and his mother on his Instagram. He uploaded a screenshot on his Instagram Stories.
Morant’s screenshot also revealed the conversation he had with his mother prior to the game. The conversation revealed his mother asking him if he was ready. And Morant replied, “I’m your son … You know the answer.”

If Ja Morant’s performance in the game against the Pelicans wasn’t enough, then the conversation puts an end to whether he was mentally ready or not. And by the looks of it, Morant was more than eager to come back onto the floor.
