Grizzlies guard Ja Morant had a pretty amazing last season on the court with the Memphis team; however, his off-court activities hampered his reputation massively. In March, he showed ammunition on Instagram Live, which turned his life upside down, as he received an 8-games suspension. Two months later, he did the same thing on Instagram, and this time, he received a much greater punishment.
NBA commissioner, Adam Silver, handed him a 25-game suspension for the upcoming 2023-24 season. Although Morant promised the world he would work on his mental well-being, he was recently seen throwing money at Dominican Club. Meanwhile, a $2 million worth rapper, who created the album named “Hoodstar”, recently talked about Morant’s behavior. He revealed the real reason behind it.

Appearing on VLADTV, “Hoodstar” rapper, Chingy talked in length about Morant’s suspension and his behavior off the court. He said, “Why would you want to ruin what you got good over here that’s something that you love to do; possibly was a dream of yours. Why would you want to ruin that?”
Speaking about the real reason behind it, Chingy further said, “Because he’s suffering from a lot of childhood trauma and he’s just displaying it. He’s displaying all of this on camera, he got trauma issues to deal with. He’s just asking for help.”
Chingy feels nobody actually loves Morant, as people around him love his money and what he’s doing in his career. Otherwise, he would not have displayed such behavior on social media. Although Morant received support from his family and peers, most of them still remain silent after his second suspension.
Is Morant’s father responsible for his off-court problems?
After Morant received an 8-game suspension, his father Tee Morant said, “I felt totally responsible. Ja’s gonna show the world who he is, and I’m excited about that.”
Interestingly, senior Morant has not made any comments after his son received a 25-game suspension. Tee Morant, who played alongside Ray Allen during Hillcrest High School days, could have become a pro; instead, he became a barber.

Despite all the criticism, Tee Morant has always shown support for his son, as he often tried to hype up his son while sitting on the courtside. The Grizzlies will surely miss Morant and his services in the first 25 games of the next season. Following his lengthy suspension, it will be interesting to see how Morant bounces back from the setback.
