He recently opened up about his harrowing 72-hour experience in an interview on SiriusXM’s The Starting Lineup. He recounted waking up to chaos on a Saturday morning.

“I woke up at six in the morning and I just heard sirens,” said the shooting guard. He further added, “It?s pretty insane. You can feel the impact of the shaking in the sky, especially when it gets low”. The Arkansas native went on to say that his “room was shaking”. He immediately left for the airport upon receiving a text from the team’s general manager. Hannah’s apartment is located in Bat Yam, which is two hours away from the Gaza Strip.

Hannahs mentioned that upon reaching the airport on Saturday, he came across a news report about a missile hitting Bat Yam. He reflected, saying, “I’m reading it like, ‘Wow, I got out just in time'”. This was just moments before the airport descended into more panic. “As I look up, everyone in the airport is sprinting to a shelter. As an American, my first thought was there were gunmen, then I heard giant booms, and they were shooting missiles at the airport while we were trying to get out“, concluded the 30-year-old.

Dusty and his teammates are now safe in Athens. However, the horrors still continue in Israel. Several NBA stars and their family are taking to social media to express their concerns about the ongoing travesty, the latest being Stephen Curry‘s wife Ayesha.

She shared a post created by Leah Thomas, an American environmental activist. The post addressed everyone, especially those not affiliated with either of the involved communities in the conflict. It stated, “If you aren’t in either community… I encourage you to center humanity during this time.”
