Phoenix guard Bradley Beal has gone through a challenging first season with the Suns despite averaging 18.2 points in 30 games played. His tenured has been tainted by injuries, forcing him to miss a large part of the season i.e., 29 games in total. Beal’s latest setback came on February 13th against the Sacramento Kings. He suffered a hamstring injury while attempting a jump shot in the first quarter, forcing him to leave the game. This injury adds to a flurry of back-to-back soft-tissue issues that have plagued him throughout the season.
Can Beal help the Suns secure the Championship Ring?
Beal’s season began with a 7-game absence due to a lower back issue. His much-anticipated return was met with minutes restrictions to ease him back into action. Sadly, the 30-year-old’s comeback was short-lived as his back issues resurfaced, leading to a further 12-game absence. Upon returning, Beal faced more setbacks – an ankle injury suffered and a nasal fracture from an elbow in the Pacers game.
While Beal’s return holds promise, concerns have surfaced about potential disruptions to the Suns’ winning formula centered around Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Jusuf Nurkic. Notably, Phoenix has managed a respectable 16-13 record without Beal this season.

However, with important upcoming match-ups against the defending champion Denver Nuggets, the league-leading Boston Celtics, and the Western Conference’s no.2 Oklahoma City Thunder, Beal’s presence becomes imperative. While the team has managed a 3-2 record since his latest injury, maintaining this momentum throughout the year and avoiding the play-in tournament seems to be a challenge.
The Suns need all hands on deck to get through the demanding 2nd half of the season. Beal’s return can offer much-needed support for Durant and Booker, allowing them to get crucial rest when possible. Every missed game for Beal increases the burden on Suns’ superstars Durant and Booker. His timely return could be the key to ensure a smooth second half and establish the Suns’ position as a true championship contender.
