Weeks into the season, the Golden State Warriors have already lost 6 games in their home. Apart from that, they lost multiple clutch games, which pushed them to the 11th seed with a poor 10-14 record. However, on Saturday night, the San Francisco side took on the promising Brooklyn Nets at Chase Center and finally delivered a much-needed win. Importantly, the victory meant something to Stephen Curry, and he yelled his heart out following the buzzer.
The Warriors went through a series of setbacks right from their first game of the season. While the 5-game winning streak in the initial games remained the only positive for the side, everything else was a disaster. Starting with Draymond Green‘s two suspensions within the first 20 games, inconsistency with key players, a 6-game losing streak, and flurry of turnovers. Steph’s scream after the game could be an outburst of bottled-up frustration.

Ahead of the season, 35-year-old Stephen Curry himself claimed to be in the prime of his career. Rightly so. Days into the season, he came up in the MVP conversation, averaging around 30 points a game. However, the scoring took a hit following the team’s poor run. Key players like Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins didn’t turn up when required, leaving Steph, who has two defenders by his side all the time, hanging.

Nevertheless, Saturday night was the night for the Dubs to break the rut and get back to the winning ways. The Warriors kept a steady lead throughout the first half and laid the platform for a comfortable victory. However, the Nets came back strong in the second half and chased down an 18-point lead, thanks to Cam Thomas. He dropped 41 points and kept the Nets in the hunt.
While it seemed like the game might slip away from the Dubs’ hand, Curry showed his clutch prowess. He dropped 16 points in the fourth quarter alone and finished the game with 37 points. Following the buzzer, he screamed his heart and sent out a funny statement during the post-game interview.
When the interviewer asked about the scream, Steph hilariously replied, “Release the Kraken.” Following that, he revealed the importance of winning the game at home a struggling stretch in the last few weeks.

Moreover, he also spoke about the tough nature of his teammates. Especially Klay Thompson, who also completed a personal milestone tonight.

Apart from the team’s losses, Thompson had to worry about his own inconsistency, which even led to the question of benching him. However, he pulled everything back with a season-high performance of 30 points in the last game and followed it with 24 points with crucial two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.

Above all, he surpassed Jason Terry and reached the 9th spot in the NBA all-time three-pointers list, late in the game. He could further rise up on the ladder in the upcoming games.
And finally, the happy Dubs superstar called his Splash Brother a tough player in the interview. He said, “It’s tough. I am a competitor, Klay is a competitor…,” when asked about the concerning situation on the team.
