While his documentary, Underrated has captured people’s attention, the four-time NBA champion talked about a vital lesson from his life. He particularly focused on. ?failure and losses?. Much like how he was rejected by Ayesha the first time they hung out together.

Stephen Curry was doubted from the minute the Warriors drafted him. But he always used that chip on his shoulder to outperform and prove people wrong. Yet, that did not mean that Curry did not face obstacles.

Curry has been talking a lot about his latest documentary: Underrated, available on Apple TV. In a recent interview, the host asked Curry about the importance of facing rejection and other challenges. The 2022 Finals MVP had an answer handy.?

Curry said, ?To know that I started from somewhere and adopted an underrated mindset. And needed people to support me and lift me and build me up along the way. And how I dealt with the extreme lows and the failures and the losses.? Try to bottle that up into fuel to keep going to develop my work ethic and perseverance.?

Fans can certainly take away an important lesson from that. Even the hardships one faces can eventually become the driving force for one’s success.

Steph also opened up about the need for his latest documentary. ?I think it?s what?s needed right now. And I?ll say it just because I need my story told. But I feel like it?s an ability to separate the finished, polished product of what people see…And what my NBA journey was.?

 

Curry’s rejection at the hands of Ayesha

Every time Stephen Curry faced rejection or experienced failure, he used it as fuel to keep him going to perform better. Now, whether the same can be said the first time Curry had to face rejection at the hands of Ayesha is for you to decide.
