In the heart of the NBA’s intense competition, a heartwarming moment unfolded this weekend. As the Charlotte Hornets faced the Golden State Warriors, it wasn’t just any game. It was a family affair, a “Curry Clan weekend” as some called it. Dell Curry, a former Hornets legend himself, watched not from the sidelines, but from the booth, calling a game where his sons, Stephen Curry and Seth Curry, battled it out on the court.

While the Golden State Warriors ultimately emerged victorious 97-84, the night belonged to the Curry brothers. Their post-game interaction, captured in a heartwarming Instagram post by Stephen, spoke volumes about the love and respect they share.

Stephen, the two-time MVP and all-time 3-point king, shared glimpses of the weekend’s events, from hitting the links with his wife Ayesha to rocking his pre-game fits and finally, sharing the court with his brother and father. Love was the theme of the week for the Chef.

When asked about his emotions, Stephen, who turns 36 next month, couldn’t help but chuckle about feeling outnumbered when paired against the Hornets, “I can’t imagine. Having kids and seeing them accomplish anything is like the biggest joy,” Stephen elaborated, “And now, we’ve been in the league for a long time so he’s had the moments of I’m sure reflection, of being able to process our individual journeys and our differences and we all had different paths to get here, but now to have a son playing for the same team he played for as an original Hornet, I told them I’m outnumbered now when they come in, it’s two Currys against one. It is pretty special.

A night the Currys won’t soon forget

Dell, ever the proud father, beamed with pride and said, “I know how hard it is to get to the league, I played in the league but the best thing about it is they do, too.” He added, “They don’t take this for granted. The window is short. It’s Seth’s 10th year, Steph’s 15th, it’s still a small part of your life you get to play in the NBA. I know they’re cherishing it just as much as I am.

During his 10-season tenure with the Hornets, Dell entered his name in the franchise history, earning the Sixth Man of the Year award and leaving his mark as the all-time leader in points, games played, three-point field goals made and attempted, and three-point field goal percentage. Now, with Seth joining the team, the family’s connection to the city has deepened even further. Both sons proudly rock the number 30 jersey, honoring their father’s legacy.

Statistically speaking, while the game itself may not have seen record-breaking numbers from either Curry brother – Stephen finished with 15 points, 2 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Seth, coming off the bench, contributed 6 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists–but this game wasn’t about stats. This was a night in history, a dream come true for a family whose connection to the NBA runs deep. It was a celebration of basketball, of family, and of the legacy the Currys continue to build in the league!
