The Los Angeles Lakers recently snapped their abysmal losing streak defeating the Clippers. Amid their impressive winning streak, the LA Clippers experienced a setback, losing 103-106 to the Lakers. However, this wasn’t enough to impress Stephen A. Smith as he aired his frustration about the Lakers in his podcast. He called out every player except Anthony Davis and LeBron James, slamming the roster as “straight garbage”.
He also elaborated on comments that LBJ himself made in a post-game press conference after the Lakers fell to the Memphis Grizzlies just a game prior, “embarrassing” the entire Lakers roster. So, let’s see what Smith has to say about that.

After the 127-113 loss to Memphis Bron said, “He(Bronny) could play for us right now. Easy. EASY.” Many people can easily misinterpret this comment very easily, but Stephen A. gives his take on it. “You know how embarrassed I would be if I heard him say that his son, Bronny James, who’s playing at USC in his first year, could be playing the Lakers right now. Do you know what an indictment is against you if you’re anybody outside of Anthony Davis? You have any idea how embarrassing that is?” demands Smith.
Furthermore, he goes on to clear all doubts, saying, “I interpreted it as my son is good enough to be on this squad right now because some of y’all ain’t.” LeBron is rightfully justified in this statement of his as the entire Lakers roster has let down the fans with their abysmal performance. Though their recent win against the Clippers can be seen as a spark of hope, the longevity of this good performance is doubtful.

In the fourth quarter, the Clippers faced a daunting 10-point deficit against the Lakers, prompting concerns about their offensive strategy. The trio of key players, PG, Kawhi, and The Beard, known for their isolation scoring, raised questions about the sustainability of a stagnant offense. Despite notable efforts from Paul George and Ivica Zubac, scoring in the twenties, the Clippers fell short.
The Lakers, on the other hand, survived only due to the brilliant performances of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. This unsustainable approach of relying too much on its veterans will prove detrimental to their post-season chances. The young players on the roster need to step up in their gameplay and support AD and Bron.
