The 2024 NBA Celebrity All-Star Game was an entertaining affair. Even before the start of the match, fans received newsworthy developments. Hours before the game, reports emerged that Stephen A. Smith wouldn’t participate in the game, as he had his ankles broken by Dallas Cowboys’ linebacker Micah Parsons during practice. Nonetheless, the Celebrity All-Star Game promised plenty of entertainment in the hours ahead.

The star-studded contest itself was chock-full of talking points and impressive performances. However, Micah Parsons’ incredible 37-point performance proved crucial, as he led Shannon Sharpe’s team to a victory over rival and fellow ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith’s team. Although Sharpe’s team won the Celebrity All-Star Game fairly, a bitter Stephen A. Smith accused him of tampering after the event.

Stephen A. Smith voices his frustration regarding the Celebrity Game

During the latest episode of ESPN’s First Take, co-hosts Molly Qerim and Sharpe rub salt into Smith’s wounds by trolling him. But Stephen A. Smith accused Sharpe of illegally recruiting Los Angeles Rams’ wide receiver, Puka Nucua. He said, “Do you know he (Puka Nucau) wasn’t on the roster. Shannon added him at the last minute. I’m trying to tell you right now that Shannon is pulling strings, man.”

Puka Nucau was instrumental in the team’s success, contributing significantly with 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists during the game. Dylan Wang also made important contributions, as he scored 18 points for Shannon Sharpe’s team. However, the star of the game was Micah Parsons. He recorded 37 points, 16 rebounds and 4 steals in a supremely dominant display.

For Stephen A. Smith’s team, CJ Stroud top scored with 31 points and 9 rebounds. The 22-year-old Houston Texans’ quarterback threw down some highlight-worthy dunks during his impressive performance. Content creator Tristan Jass also contributed 27 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in the game. Following the game, Micah Parsons was awarded the Ruffles Celeb Game MVP because of his 37-point performance.

In a post-match interview with ESPN, Parsons attributed his performance to his aggressive style of play. He said, “I just said I was gonna come down hill, be a force to be reckoned with. They say don’t treat it like it’s football, but I don’t believe that, man. I’m bringing my aggression to the court, and I’m taking home this trophy.”
