The NBA summer league is an exciting time for fans to witness some of the most talented youngsters in action. The anticipated debut of Victor Wembanyama made the headlines recently and was much talked about. But one more NBA player’s antics on the court made it to social media chatter.

On the antics of a certain youngster, fans connected the young NBA player’s movements and play strategy to the incredibly talented Stephen Curry. The player decided to aim for the best with a perfect three-pointer, but where the ball eventually landed created a social media storm.

The 23-year-old has been playing basketball since high school. He started dribbling and dunking at St. Anthony High School in New Jersey and was signed up after college in the 2022-2023 season.

While confidence is a key attribute for any athlete, Nowell seems to have crossed the fine line. The point guard tried to do what even the most experienced players like Stephen Curry think twice before doing – trying a dunk from the outer line – the classic three-pointer.

Of course, the ‘Baby Faced Assassin’ has repeatedly been successful after years of hard work and practice. Some of his three-pointers have become a part of folklore, with Curry seemingly going back to the center before the ball even touches the rim.

In comparison, Markquis has only had 35.3 percent success in shooting from the three-point position. Unfortunately for him, his latest move to copy Curry failed spectacularly, and that has become the subject of social media chatter down the line.

Social media was quick enough to grab the video and it soon became viral via the social media accounts, and each one of them had something to add to the proceedings.

Here are a few reactions:

Another one lamented the shot in his own way.

Someone else had a pertinent question.

Yet, a netizen echoed the majority by claiming that Curry’s mastery had forced the upcoming athletes to copy the ‘Golden Boy’ himself, which led to the abject failure.
