Basketball fans anticipated the Denver Nuggets‘ matchup against the Clippers. However, they got more than what they bargained for as Shaquille O’Neal and Ernie treated them to a delightful mix of wisdom and laughter. While pressing on Nikola Jokic‘s impressive performances despite missing Jamal Murray on the court, Shaq couldn’t help but express his admiration for the big man. However, the comedic gem of the night occurred when Shaq, in a momentary lapse, said, “If you don’t double this guy, this is Slovakian Coleslaw, all day.

Quick with wit, Ernie seized the opportunity, playfully remarking, “Slovakian Coleslaw, sounds appetizing!” Shaq, unaware of his geographical mix-up, continued praising Jokic as the best big man in the league “by far.” As a result, the entire crew joined in on the jest, seizing opportunities to echo Shaq’s “by far” each chance they got.

Regardless, in an unwitting comedy of errors, Shaq continued his glowing review, blissfully unaware. However, Ernie came to the rescue, nudging Shaq with, “Is it still Serbian Slaw, not Slovakian?”  Shaquille O’Neal couldn’t help but radiate a smile while appreciating the good-natured ribbing that ensued after his slip of the tongue.

While the focus was on Shaq’s mix-up, the moment unveiled the depth of Shaq’s admiration for Nikola Jokic. Shaq’s profound appreciation for the Serbian star became evident as he went to great lengths to commend the big man. More than a comedic glimpse, it is a testament to the genuine respect Shaq holds for the Joker.

Former NBA players claim Shaq supreme over Jokic

According to Arenas, Shaq initiated a chain of events that led to rule changes and tweaks in defensive strategies to simply counter him. His silver lining rests in the claim that Shaq commanded respect from the opponents; while asserting that Jokic has more work to do. However, Areans did not dismiss Jokic’s prowess, handing him his gold for his natural passing abilities. Regardless, he thinks that there is a gap that needs to be bridged for Jokic to reach the same level.
