The ultimate season opener is over and the Los Angeles Lakers bit the dust. Despite a fighting effort from LeBron James & Co, the team couldn’t restrict the defending champions on their home court. The Denver Nuggets registered a comfortable 12-point victory. On top of it, to further rub the salt on the wounds, the veteran sports analyst, Skip Bayless, fired shots at King James and his wingman Anthony Davis with an after-game analysis.

Bayless has always been one of the most controversial analysts in the US sports world. Apart from his constant verbal volley with Shannon Sharpe, he also makes controversial opinions about the players. Not to forget his long-standing beef with the 4x NBA Champion. Even though James barely responds to the 71-year-old analyst, Bayless continues to pull the trigger from his end. Similarly, he fired shots at AD and James after the opening game.

In the repeat of the 2023 Western Conference Finals, the Lakers once again fell short. Not to undermine the domination that Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray channeled on the court. Alongside the efforts of the star players, the LA fans had issues over the rotation of bench players. Especially fans couldn’t tolerate the choice of Cam Reddish over Max Christie. Apart from that, Skip Bayless pointed to two other issues.

Anthony Davis looked off color on the opening day, dropping only 17 points with only 8 rebounds, out of which only 1 offensive rebound. The effort was nowhere closer to his record in the previous season with 10.4 average rebounds. Bayless took to his X handle and pointed out the same. The tweet read, “How does Anthony Davis score 17 points … with only ONE REBOUND? Austin Reaves has 7 rebounds. Is Anthony the new Ant-Man? He’s rebounding with all the impact of an Ant.”

Moreover, he didn’t stop there, as he went at his nemesis LeBron James as well. The duo has had long-standing beef between them. Bayless found the right opportunity to go at him again. He pointed out that James didn’t go to the free-throw line and blamed his relationships with the refs.

This isn’t the first time where Skip Bayless went at Anthony Davis either.

Skip calls AD a disappointment

During the 2023 postseason, Anthony Davis almost carried the Lakers team on his shoulders, securing the rim. However, it wasn’t enough for the veteran analyst.
