Dell Curry’s sneakers may have impressed Stephen Curry in his childhood, but he was nowhere near his father’s foot size. However, the adamant tiny kid convinced himself to sport his dad’s size 14 sneakers. In a recent interview with the Complex, the Warriors superstar narrated a hilarious story about size 14 sneakers.
The interviewer asked Steph when sneakers did actually matter to him, standing near a pile of sneakers. Steph began narrating his love for sneakers from his High School. Following that, he reminisced about the period when he convinced himself that his foot size was 14. He said, “Pops play in the league, he wore a size 14. I had a bigger foot as a kid growing up but I didn’t definitely wear a 14 but I convinced myself that I was a 14 so I can rock all his shoes.”
Later, he revealed how he sported size 14 sneakers all the way through his rookie season from college despite his actual shoe size, which was 12.5.

After High School, Steph wanted to join the Duke University. However, his skinny appearance didn’t let him find a spot in the college. Later, Davidson College signed him, impressed by his shooting prowess. Eventually, the Baby-faced assassin showcased his true talent under the guidance of coach Bob McKillop. He went on to become a NCAA sensation with his impressive performance. Following that, he rewrote the history and continued to dominate the league in spite of his size.
