Stephen Curry stirred one such debate surrounding the greatest of all-time point guard, as he put himself ahead of Magic Johnson. Draymond Green recently took a stance in the controversy, six days after calling Curry and LeBron James, “Black heroes”.
The Golden State Warriors star sided with his teammate over the Los Angeles Lakers legend in the debate. His comments gave the drama more momentum as the 3-year-old explained his beliefs.

Slightly less than a week ago, Green got caught up in an argument online where he had to defend his image. He was called out for failing to take sides between LeBron James and Stephen in times of need. To defend both the NBA superstars, Draymond referred to them as “Two black heroes,”?before hitting back at the comment.

Recently, in an interview, he stood by his words once again, showcasing his loyalty to the greats of the current generation. In a question related to the ongoing GOAT point guard debate, the Warrior sided with his decade-long teammate over Magic. He believed the way the Splash Brother changed the game “is an even bigger compliment than what you have done for the game”.

He promptly took a stand for the 4-time NBA champion, defending him, stating, “How can you not be?”. “It’s a very easy one for me,”?the 4-time All-Star mentioned before displaying his fondness for Stephen. He highlighted, “I gotta roll with the dog that I roll in with,”?he said, before reiterating, “That’s Steph Curry”.

Being a champion himself, his words added more volume to Curry’s side of the debate. The power forward preserved the public image of his team’s talisman yet again as the entire controversy received another spark.

Stephen must have never thought how his backing of himself publicly would cause such a big debate. The 9-time All-Star took a stance to support his achievements that drew the attention of the NBA world soon enough. With the debate gaining pace and seeming like a never-ending one, finding an answer looks impossible.
Two great point guards who influenced the game in their own way are now being ridiculed because of it, tarnishing both of their greatness. Despite the recency bias playing a major role in the argument, it still has no clear-cut winner.
