The highly anticipated Stephen Curry vs Sabrina Ionescu three-point contest has gotten the entire world excited that the greatest shooter in the NBA will go up against the WNBA star at the All-Star weekend. As the faceoff is between the best of both worlds, people have started placing their bets on their favorite candidate and surprisingly the votes are not one-sided. Many NBA and WNBA stars, including Curry’s splash brother Klay Thompson, are confident about Ionescu’s skills.

However, Draymond Green on the other hand picked the side of his fellow teammate and even pointed out the unfair advantage that Sabrina Ionescu holds against Curry which can prove to be the game-changer in the contest.

On the Draymond Green Podcast, the 4x NBA champion spoke about the first-ever NBA vs WNBA contest and gave some insights. Green pointed out that Sabrina Ionescu will be shooting from the WNBA line, whereas Curry will be shooting from the NBA line in this contest. Looking at that Green found the situation to be a little unfair for Curry and said, “I quite frankly myself think that Sabrina should also be shooting from the NBA line because those 3-feet do make a difference and you are essentially saying I am as good a shooter or better than Steph Curry in these contests.”

Here, Green’s point is valid because, in a contest, the rules should be the same for every candidate. And mending them for Ionescu does not seem right because she is equally talented as she broke the three-point record last year and missed only one shot. Because of that, she can offer a fair fight to Curry, but even then Draymond Green said that he still chooses the 35-year-old guard to emerge victorious.

However, when Sabrina Ionescu was asked about this advantage, she requested to shoot from the NBA line so that the contest was not one-sided. She even said that she shoots from the NBA line itself and even explained why she does it. Ionescu said, “I practice from that range in wanting to just be a better shooter, a better basketball player, and get better as a whole. It was a no-brainer from when it was first presented that I wanted to shoot from the NBA line.”
