Rudy Gobert has found himself on the wrong side of the NBA law once again. During a tight game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Gobert accused match officials of match-fixing. After getting fouled out for a contentious play, Gobert made the money gesture, which earned him a technical foul. The Timberwolves went on to lose the game to the Cavs by a scoreline of 113-104 in overtime.

Following the game, a livid Rudy Gobert didn’t hold back his frustration. He said, “I know the betting and all that is becoming bigger and bigger, but it shouldn’t feel that way.” Gobert’s remarks have opened a Pandora’s Box of differing opinions about the growing industry of sports betting. It was only a matter of time before the league handed him a massive fine for his controversial remarks. Indeed, the NBA handed Rudy Gobert a fine that will amount to approximately $100,000.

It’s a lot of money. We human beings at the end of the day. We not always right but everyone’s allowed to speak their mind.
