An ongoing debate has gripped the NBA world for quite some time now. From TV shows to online debates, everyone is talking about one thing and one thing only. Who is the greatest point guard in NBA history? Is it Stephen Curry or Magic Johnson or somebody else? Former NBA star Richard Jefferson recently gave his take on the ongoing debate. Interestingly, he agreed with a claim which was backed by none other than Michael Jordan himself.

On a recent episode of Road Trippin’, Jefferson gave his take on the point guard debate. His answer might disappoint millions of Golden State Warriors fans worldwide.

There is no denying that Stephen Curry and Magic Johnson are two of the greatest point guards ever who changed the dynamics of the game. While some argue that Curry is the greatest point guard ever, some feel otherwise.

Michael Jordan happens to prefer Johnson over the Golden State Warriors legend. Interestingly enough, even Richard Jefferson is of the same belief. Not only Jefferson, but LeBron James’ former Cavs teammate Channing Frye also agreed.

“Magic Johnson, it’s not even close”, said Richard Jefferson according to cavaliersnation. Adding his claims to Jefferson’s take, Frye replied, “Steph is that dude, but Steph ain’t that dude. He ain’t that. You ain’t him.”

They are not the only former NBA stars to prefer Magic Johnson over Stephen Curry. Even Jordan, who shared some heated moments with the 5-time NBA champion, sided with his old rival in this debate.

Eminent ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith was live on television talking about the point guard debate. That’s when he revealed he had received a text message from a certain someone.

Smith read out a message from the Chicago Bulls legend in which he says: “is easily the best point guard of all time”, according to Bleacher Report. The 6-time NBA champion referred to Magic’s multiple NBA titles along with his 138 career triple doubles in the message. However, MJ also mentioned that the gap between the two players is not quite much.
