LeBron James and the Lakers lost 101-104 against the Mavericks tonight. Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic were in perfect sync for the entirety of the game. Irving’s final 3-pointer took the Mavs to the victory on the Lakers’ home turf. Not happy with how he handled the game, LeBron gets honest about his performance.

Luka and Ky had a splendid night. Doncic scored 30 points leading the scoreboard, while Chief Hela was right behind with 28 points. It only added to LeBron’s dismay at his own performance.

Referring to his execution and a failed play with Anthony Davis, he draws parallels with the football analogy and says, “Left a little short… right read… just quarterback. I just left it short. I didn’t leave my receiver and got picked off.”

It was a close call, really. The fourth quarter was the deal breaker. Starting off slow, the Lakers built momentum. Dereck Lively II had to leave in the third quarter due to lower back contusion and LA saw this as a chance. Outscoring them 30-14 in the last stretch, the Lakers missed a bunch of important shots that would have made the Thanksgiving extra special.

But Luka’s double-double and Irving‘s fourth 3-pointer of the night sealed the deal for a joyous Dallas. But was it really a great game?

The Mavs game tonight was not their best

Granted, Dallas was leading the first three quarters, but it could be that which got them a little too comfortable against a team like Lakers. LA for their part, saw an open window going into the fourth quarter and took it. Not to mention, the King James’ favorite time is the last stretch.

And it was certainly no different tonight. Bron scored 16 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter. If it weren’t for the Irving-Doncic duo, Dallas would have been carved for Thanksgiving. Moving on to their offense, losing Lively surely did a number on them.

But that shouldn’t have been the case here. With 6:14 left on the clock, the Lone Star State had gotten just two points to the purple and gold’s 19. But Luka’s bank shot with 4:10 helped the “Big D” along. But what really worked in their favor was LeBron’s turnover with just four seconds left and a missed 3-pointer that would have tied the game.

Anyway, as Davis said, “We had a shot to win the game … and (we) made some big-time shots.” But it just so happened to be not enough to get them over the edge. After two back-to-backs, the Lakers will return to face the Cavaliers next.

Both teams will be looking to clinch a victory. Who do you think will take the win home? Let us know what you think!
