We haven’t seen much of the Phoenix Suns‘ star guard Bradley Beal in action this season because of a series of injuries he has had to deal with. Bradley has played only six games in the season so far and as of now, he stays indefinitely on the injury list after sustaining a right ankle injury on the 15th of December during the 139-122 loss against the Knicks.

In the six games he has played this season, Bradley has averaged 14.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists. His ankle will be reevaluated by the beginning of January next year. In a recent interview, he shares the woes of having to deal with the guilt of not being able to travel with his teammates and staying dormant for an extended period of time.

Bradley has been spending too much time inside his head

Having too much free time on his hands doesn’t seem to be doing any good for the former All-NBA star. While Bradley acknowledges that he appreciates spending time by himself to think, evaluate where he is in life, and take a moment to reflect on life, he also admits that it has been draining to spend too much time alone with his thoughts. Bradley says, “But it’s also been frustrating. It can be a dangerous place to be alone. You are calling your thoughts a lot. You do get caught in that mindset of questioning a lot.”

Despite battling his mental blues, he is grateful for a strong support system that has helped him stay positive through it all, and bring back his confidence. “And my biggest thing is they help me through it all, the staying positive, man. Positive, positive, positive. Trust and believe in the work I put in for 12 years now.”

As Bradley hopes for a quick recovery, Devin Booker and Co. are trying to hold the fort down for a struggling Suns.
