Paul George didn’t play for the Los Angeles Clippers against the Golden State Warriors. He was expected to play against the New York Knicks but his hip injury sustained while playing against the Sacramento Kings proved detrimental. As the Clippers are going to host the Knicks on Saturday, his fans want him back.

Last year Paul missed nine games in the regular season and first round of playoffs due to knee injury. He has stayed healthy this year, but the injury struck him again. The Clippers managed to defeat the Warriors without him, but if he returns, it certainly will bolster his side.

Knicks are riding on high confidence after defeating the Phoenix Suns led by Kevin Durant. Jalen Brunson crafted history by scoring 50 points and he would love to repeat the same against the Clippers. LA too is high on their six straight wins. But Paul is likely to miss the Saturday game as he has been declared questionable, as reported by Sports Illustrated.

Paul George averages 22.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.0 assists. In his absence, the Clippers will rely on the veteran James Harden who recently hit the 25000 points mark. Also, Kawhi Leonard will be the one with whom Clippers fans have tied their expectations.
Earlier, in the week-long schedule, the Los Angeles Clippers had to face one opponent after another. Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors, and New York Knicks were the battle lists for Clippers in the tight six-day schedule.
The injury of Paul George is reported to be minor but the Clippers would want him to be 100% fit before he gets back on the hardwood. Even if he missed the Knicks encounter, the schedule is crowded for the Clippers ahead.

The road ahead for Paul George

The head coach of the Clippers Tye Lue tried to evaluate George’s hip before he was declared questionable. Even if he misses the Saturday match-up, the next week is a busy time for the Clippers as they will face Pacers, Mavericks, Thunder, and Celtics.

Kawhi Leonard has a shoulder to rely on in the form of superstar James Harden. But he would want his favorite pair back with whom he had an interesting season. Kawhi and George played 23 games together, and it was the fittest stretch since the two joined in 2019-20.
