The Los Angeles Clippers shooting guards, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, are one of the most reliable duos in the Western Conference. Besides achieving memorable feats on the basketball court, they bond well off the court. But ever imagined them to be each others’ rivals?
Legendary golfers, Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer, were surprisingly brought into the picture when conceiving this reality. Fifteen-time major winner Wood previously said that he’s forever grateful for his friendship with Palmer. The late Pennsylvanian on the other hand considered Woods as the greatest in golf history. Wonder what the renowned golfers have to do in all these? A video uploaded by the Clippers on X, formerly Twitter, tells the story.
The Golf Battle!

Paul and Kawhi were seen engaging in a battle of golf in a rather light manner. The video was shot somewhere at the Hawaiian Islands. Paul George was set to swing his golf club in the amusing video. Kawhi, when asked who would win a battle between him and PG, replied eagerly that PG do not stand a chance in front of him.

“Me,” Leonard replied. “Look at that (George’s) swing.” The person asking the question then moves towards George, who briskly denies Kawhi’s statement. “Psh stop that. You see the Polo. See Tiger made the Red Polo famous. I make the Orange one famous,” said George as he was wearing an orange polo. Leonard further added to the conversation, “I’m definitely going to win. And I got an Arnold Palmer. It’s like GOAT juice.”
The juice ‘Arnold Palmer’ is a tribute to the late golfer who invented the same, and enjoyed the particular combination. It is a non-alcoholic beverage that blends iced tea and lemonade.
Despite having excellent on-court understanding, Paul and Kawhi are each others’ fiercest rivals when it comes to golf. The video evidently proves this fact. Their banter is well-received by NBA fans. The Clippers are with their training currently, as they face the Utah Jazz for the NBA preseason on 9th October.
Golf for Paul George
In another video, Paul speaks about his impression on golf. The video was uploaded on YouTube by ‘Podcast P’, run by Paul George himself. The particular edition featured Klay Thompson along with Paul and his co-hosts. At one point, when the golf reference came up, ‘King George’ terms it as a loophole. He says that in golf, there is one bad shot after another. He went on comparing the game with a slippery slope.

The 6’8 appeared to enjoy the game though in the recently surfaced video. What counts is they appeared to be free-minded ahead of the NBA fixture. For Clippers fans , it is a major takeaway.
