The NBA world has been buzzing ever since Chicago Bulls superstar Zach LaVine entered the trade market. The 2-time All-Star has been the primary scorer for the Bulls for the last seven years. The Bulls’ front office tried to build a team around LaVine by adding players like DeMar DeRozan, Alex Caruso, and Lonzo Ball but were unable to find any significant success.

It is being speculated that the Los Angeles Lakers might try to acquire LaVine as they are in desperate need of a third superstar. Washington Wizards legend Gilbert Arenas sent “Lemon Daddy” Austin Reaves packing to facilitate the Zach LaVine trade to LA.

Zach LaVine expressed his desire to play alongside LeBron James during an interview in 2020. His wish might come true this year if Rob Pelinka makes a deal with the Bulls to acquire the 2-time All-Star. The Lakers have several talented young players they can offer in the trade package, including “Lemon Daddy” Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura. Gilbert Arenas gave his opinion on trading Reaves and Rui to acquire Zach LaVine during Gil’s Arena podcast. He believed the Lakers should send Rui and Reaves packing and gun for the Bulls superstar. “Look Rui, Lemon Daddy, you all did amazing. We gave you all that money, but pack your sh*t.” Arenas hilariously revealed what the Lakers should tell the two players.

Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura bagged multi-million dollar deals with the Lakers after their impressive performance last season. Reaves signed a 4-year $56 million contract, and Rui inked a 3-year $51 million deal with the Lakers this off-season. But the two players have not played how the Laker nation expected them to. Reaves and Rui’s performance this season has been inconsistent, and their numbers have dipped from last season. Pelinka might likely trade them to add another superstar to their roster.

What will Zach LaVine’s role be in LA?

Everyone is expecting Zach LaVine to be the third option behind LeBron and AD if he gets traded to the Lakers. But LaVine’s scoring ability might give him a much bigger role in LA. He can take the scoring load off LeBron’s shoulders, who is playing like a beast in his 21st season. That will keep King James healthy for the rest of the season and allow him to take over only when required.

LaVine can be the second or even the first option through the first three quarters and give the Lakers an early lead during games. And then LeBron and AD can close the games like they always do. Apart from being highly athletic, Zach is a solid three-point shooter. And playing with LeBron will only enhance his shooting ability. LaVine will be a great fit in the Lakers, and they will have a legitimate chance at winning the title if they make the trade.
