Victor Wembanyama has taken over the league from the day his name was announced first in the 2023 NBA Draft. The 7’5” French sensation is projected to be the next big superstar in the NBA. With a height similar to Hall of Famer Yao Ming and handles like Kevin Durant, Wemby has the potential to be one of the greatest players of all time. Only a few players, including LeBron James and Zion Williamson, have had the kind of hype around them before even entering the NBA as Wembanyama does. Realizing the 19-year-old’s superstar potential, $147.28 billion sportswear company Nike signed the Spurs’ new center when he was dominating the French Pro A League.

Ahead of his rookie season, Wembanyama threw the first pitch at the New York Yankees stadium while rocking Grammy Award Winner Drake’s NOCTA. Hours later, Nike dropped a video of the Frenchman talking about his “unique” preparation for the upcoming NBA season.

In Nike’s new video, the number 1 draft pick talked about what he would like to improve before starting his NBA career. Victor is working on his endurance so that he can stay productive throughout the game and not just in the first half. Projected to be a superstar, Gregg Popovich will run the Spurs offense through the 19-year-old when he is ready to take the responsibility. So, Wembanyama is already preparing for that moment.

“When you want to become a unique player, you got to work in a unique way too,” Wemby says in the video. The NBA has rarely seen a player like Victor Wembanyama. At 7’5”, he can handle and shoot the ball like a guard and move like a cat on the floor. So, his workout would be specifically curated for his body type and playing style. With Nike releasing a video for Wemby, a new signature shoe could very likely be in the making for the 19-year-old sensation.

Victor Wembanyama could be better than LeBron James

Before putting his name in the NBA draft, Wembanyama played in the French Pro A League. At just 19 years old, the center dominated the top-tier league in France, averaging 21.6 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks per game. Experts deemed him the greatest draft prospect in NBA history over 4-time Champion LeBron James. It is not certain that the 19-year-old will be able to surpass the achievements of King James, but he definitely has the potential to do so.
