Serbian basketball superstar Nikola Jokic enters the 2023-24 NBA season as one of the best players in the world, if not the best. The one thing that separates him from the rest of the superstars in the league is his honesty and humility. The Joker, as he is affectionately known, rarely refrains from speaking his mind about topics. Recently, it seems like Jokic took on the coaching role during a practice that didn’t end really well.

This comes just days before the Denver Nuggets begin their title charge. Interestingly, Jokic was brutally honest and made it clear that he had no intentions of pursuing the coaching path.

During a recent training practice, the 2023 NBA champion took charge of some plays on the court. Safe to say, it wasn’t a pleasant experience for the Serbian. After the game, he faced the media and answered some questions about his teammate, Jamal Murray, and other topics. When asked about his experience on the sidelines, The Joker was visibly upset.

“I’ll never be a coach for sure. My plays are amazing but sometimes you need the players to make it happen”, said the two-time MVP. This isn’t the first time he has spoken about the difficulties of being a coach. A few months ago, when the Nuggets took on the Los Angeles Lakers, Jokic had some words for coach Mike Malone. “I don’t want want to be a coach…I think that’s the worst job on the planet for sure”, said the 2023 NBA Finals MVP during a press conference.
