After the Team USA’s disappointing finish to the FIBA World Cup 2023, the NBA world’s attention shifts to 2024 Paris Olympics. Anthony Edwards and his men succumbed to Germany in the semi-final game and eventually lost the 3rd place game against Canada. Fans and experts have already begun the roster selection for the Olympics. Notably, superstar LeBron James has revealed his interest to join the roster. On the other hand, the veteran NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith roasted James’ teammate Anthony Davis. However, A. Smith received roaring fightback from fans on social media.

Steve Kerr’s team went ahead with a slightly inexperienced and a younger team to the world cup. Even though the team showcased great performance, it lacked the X factor and coordination to reach the finals. Following the defeat, fans and experts prepare a fairly experienced and superstars filled roster including James, AD, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and many more. In response, the veteran analyst poked AD fans.

In the last episode of First Take, Smith alongside his new co-analyst, Shannon Sharpe gave their inputs on the viral roster. The 55-year-old analyst began his statement, roasting AD. He said, “I don’t want to hear nothing about no damn Anthony Davis representing Team USA.” Following that, he even took a dig at his frequent injury breaks. He added, ” I need to make sure he gonna show up for Laker games.”

However, it didn’t please a X user, as he countered A. Smith’s statement with a stat. He shared the number of games played that AD and Kevin Durant played in the last 4 seasons. Out of which AD topped KD comfortably. The user’s message read, “Stephen A. Smith said he’s okay with Kevin Durant playing in the Olympics, but not Anthony Davis because of injury concerns.”
