Kevin Durant has been one of the best players in the league for over a decade. And he still hasn’t been given his due respect. He is one of the most talented and gifted scorers the NBA has ever seen. He was the original ‘Unicorn’. The one asterisk over his career is that he joined the ‘73-9 Warriors in 2016. This made the Warriors one of the most dominant teams the league has ever seen.

The Warriors dominated the league for four years before KD got injured in the 2019 NBA finals and left the Warriors for the Brooklyn Nets.

In the mid to late 2010s, the Golden State Warriors had a stacked roster. The team included NBA stars like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and DeMarcus Cousins, to name a few. Warriors revolutionized the game and completely dominated the NBA for a period of five years, when KD also joined the team.

Analysts and fans criticized KD for making this move because he left OKC Thunder for a Warriors team that was already dominating the league. The Warriors made a regular season record by winning 73 games, but they lost to the Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.

When KD joined the Warriors, the team faced chemistry issues, but they resolved it. It was no doubt who was the best player on the Warriors roster. The Warriors gave KD the keys to the offense and Steph took a supporting role. Between 2017 and 2019, KD and the Warriors won two NBA Finals out of three. With KD winning finals MVP on two occasions, he has a better winning percentage in the NBA finals than his Warriors teammates. KD has a winning percentage of 66.67%, while Draymond and Klay have 63.64% and Steph has a percentage of 61.76% in the NBA Finals.
