Sharing the court alongside some of the greatest players is a joy in itself. Not only does the player have a really strong chance at winning a title but to see a generational talent is a gift in itself. Not to mention the added advantage of winning games and being one of the best teams in the league.?

Having played with Kevin Durant during his stint with the Brooklyn Nets, this former player had another goal in mind prior to that. And it was to share the court with this Defensive Player of the Year.?

Kevin Durant’s former teammate revealed his plans back in the day

LaMarcus Aldridge was one of the pioneer players at the power forward position. One of the most lethal shooters for a bigman, Aldridge was a multiple-time All-Star during his stint with the Portland Trail Blazers.?

However, he eventually decided to move on and join the San Antonio Spurs in the latter half of his career. But there was another team he had in mind he almost joined back then.?

And it was none other than the Phoenix Suns. Recently, Aldridge made an appearance on the Oddball with Amin Elhassan and Charlotte Wilder podcast. That is where he revealed what enticed him to go to Phoenix.?

While on the podcast, he said, ?At that point in my career, I feel like, I?m not LeBron or KD, those guys. But I feel like I was good enough to help them get better. One of my things I always wanted was to play with Tyson Chandler.?

?Because I felt like he guarded me pretty well and I feel like we had some great battles. So, I felt like him and I on the same team, I feel like I could?ve played it to even higher level because he did so much of the dirty work. So, anyway, I was really intrigued to play with him.?

Not LeBron James but teamed up with KD instead

LaMarcus Aldridge eventually retired from the league due to health conditions. But he decided to make one last push to give it his all on the hardwood floor. That is when he decided to join the already stacked Brooklyn Nets team with the Big Three.

Unfortunately, Aldridge wasn’t the same player that he was back in his prime. Moreover, the Nets decided to fill the team with players past their prime in the hopes of chasing a title. And this ended up failing miserably for the franchise before a majority of those players moved on.

Aldridge could’ve helped LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers as well but the team was already full of players and did not have the salary space or a roster spot for Aldridge. Eventually, Aldridge retired completely from the league, going down as one of the greater power forwards.
