On the NBA court, Stephen Curry is an icon. The greatest shooter of all time, a two-time MVP, and a four-time champion are only a few ways to describe his luminous legacy. However, he is so much more than just an NBA superstar. The Chef is proficient as both a relentless force in the NBA and a community leader in Oakland.
He has invested in numerous charitable organizations. He and his wife Ayesha Curry are ardent believers of philanthropy and have contributed to the betterment of their community in various ways. Four years ago, they began “Eat. Learn. Play” an organization to assist the kids of Oakland and provide them access to what every child deserves – nutritional meals, quality education, and a place to have fun and stay active.
They have been greatly successful in their venture’s first four years. Now, they are linking up with the Oakland Marathon to further build on their mission.

Ayesha and Stephen Curry take another step towards helping children
The Curry household is actively participating in the programs of “Eat. Learn. Play.” Whether it is a reading session for kids or just spending time on the playground, the couple is also trying to make some efforts. In December, they kickstarted the ‘Christmas with Currys’ initiative. On that day, Ayesha and Stephen Curry both hand delivered 17000 gift boxes along with new bag packs, gear from Under Armour, and other goodies at the Manzinata Campus.
Today, they announced their most recent partnership with the Oakland Marathon, a community-based event that raises funds to aid the fraternity and celebrate its spirit. Through the partnership, Eat. Learn. Play becomes the official charitable beneficiary of the marathon. All the proceeds raised will directly help the program achieve its goals and provide the children of Oakland with the basic necessities they need.

Additionally, as part of the Eat. Learn. Play’s initiative, they will also host a fun race for the kids on March 16 with children from Oakland Unified School Districts having free access to the event.
All the participants of the Eat. Learn. Play Fun Run will receive a finisher’s medal along with an exclusive T-shirt. The distances will vary from a quarter mile to one mile for all the kids under the age of 12.
