The Denver Nuggets host the Golden State Warriors in the Ball Arena for a special Christmas showdown. The Warriors are on their longest winning streak of winning 5 consecutive matches this season. NBA superstars, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are both set to play. Draymond Green will of course be out for today’s match as well, owing to his league suspension. Meanwhile, Gary Payton II continues to be on the sideline because of his right calf strain. He hasn’t been playing since the franchise lost to the Kings on November 28.
There’s a high possibility that Andrew Wiggins can join Payton on the sidelines. His status is questionable ahead of the Christmas Day game. As per the franchise’s injury report, he has a “general illness”.
Golden State Warriors will also have other players in their lineup, with Brandin Podziemski taking over Andrew Wiggins’ role. We can also expect to see Jonathan Kuminga in today’s match.
Defensively, it would still be a challenge to stop Jokic-Murray’s pick and roll. From the Nuggets’ end, two starters are listed in the injury list. As per the report, both Aaron Gordon and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope are listed as ‘probable’ for today’s game. Probable listing means they are healthy, but their status will depend on the final call before or during the game. So it’s likely that they can play for their minutes. The rest of the Nuggets line-up is available to play, including Nikola Jokić and Jamal Murray, who have been the teams’ strength for the last two seasons.
While the Warriors are trailing behind in the rankings, they are as lethal as the Nuggets. Securing a victory would be important for the dub nation to get in the rhythm before facing the top teams at a stretch. The Warriors are scheduled to play No. 4 in the east Miami Heat, Dallas who are currently at no. 6 in the west, and then the Orlando Magic who are No. 4 in the east.

Predictions: Nuggets vs Warriors
After having a tumultuous start, the Warriors have found their rhythm after winning straight five games. They started their winning streak in Brooklyn by beating the Nets, followed by defeating the Blazers two times and the Wizards. Warriors had a huge win against the Celtics that went on to overtime.
What they have struggled with this season is games played on the road and defeating Nuggets would be a challenge on their home court. The Nuggets will be playing at their full strength and they have a ton of fans cheering for them, which could mount additional pressure on Steph and Co.
