The Phoenix Suns have decided to go All-in on their 26-year-old superstar Devin Booker. Phoenix added 2-time NBA Champion Kevin Durant to their squad earlier this year. Still trying to find their groove, the duo could not do much in the 2023 playoffs and lost in the second round to the eventual champions Denver Nuggets. With time to recoup this off-season, the Suns let go of their veteran Point Guard Chris Paul and signed the $251,019,650 rich Wizards star Bradley Beal. With this new Big 3, the Phoenix Suns have become the favorites to win the 2024 NBA Championship.
But Former NBA Champion Kendrick Perkins had a major concern with the top-heavy roster of the Phoenix Suns. And he believes the 25-year-old Suns guard is the “Key” to this team’s success.

ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins found a missing piece in the star-studded Phoenix Suns roster. Even though the Suns have 3 superstars in their squad, Big Perk raised a major concern, “But who’s gonna be that guy that’s gonna bring that toughness, do all the little things, be able to hold his spot from the corner three?” With three ball-dominant superstars in the team, Perkins believes the 25-year-old guard Josh Okogie is the answer to all the questions. “I think he is the perfect fit for this starting 5.” said the former NBA Champion.
After spending 4 seasons in Minnesota, Okogie joined the Phoenix Suns last year and proved to be a solid role player for the team. Playing alongside superstars like KD, Book, and Beal will unleash his true potential, and he can be the guy who does all the dirty work for the team. His contribution will be the key to the success of the Suns as they do not have many good role players on the team.

Big Perk also believes that Josh Okogie can help the Phoenix Center Deandre Ayton get back on track. “He could put the key in Deandre Ayton back.” Perk added. Ayton has not been as great as the Suns fans thought he would be when he was drafted Number 1 in the 2018 draft over Luka Doncic and Trae Young.
Even though he had a decent showing in the Phoenix Suns’ run to the 2021 finals, he has not had any significant impact on the team since then. Perkins believes Okogie can help Ayton become the player fans expect him to be.

Josh Okogie is projected to be in the starting 5 for the Phoenix Suns next season alongside KD, Book, Beal, and Ayton. Surrounded by elite superstars, Okogie will look to make a name for himself by playing his role to the best of his ability and helping the Phoenix Suns win their first Championship.
