The Golden State Warriors have struggled to find any semblance of form this season. They have significantly under-delivered on their preseason aspirations of an NBA title. The Dubs currently occupy the 10th spot in the Western Conference standing, with a record marginally above .500. However, the Warriors failed to conclude any significant additions on the trade deadline. But, it wasn’t for the lack of trying, as the Dubs inquired about LeBron James.
Warriors’ influential owner Joe Lacob initiated trade talks after being encouraged by Draymond Green. However, LeBron and his agent, Rich Paul, decided against the move, as LeBron wanted to finish the season with the Lakers. The Dubs’ failed trade deadline pursuit of LeBron just goes on to show the level of ambition Joe Lacob has for the Warriors.

In a recent interview, Lacob didn’t mince his words as he outlined his expectations for the future of the Warriors franchise. He said, “We just want to win. We want to be the best, and we’re going to try whatever tactic it takes to get there. I am not here to screw around. We are not here to screw around… We may fail. Everyone fails. We may fail occasionally, but it will not be for lack of trying.”
