Draymond Green sheds light on the Poole altercation
The Golden State Warriors managed to defy all odds by winning the 2022 NBA championship. As the third seed that year, the Warriors were not underdogs. But their aging core and issues with injuries had raised red flags in the mind of many. Only the most diehard fans still vehemently vouched for the Dubs as dark-horse candidates. Despite shocking the league by winning the Finals in just 6 games, the start of their next season did not go as planned.
During the team workouts, Draymond Green and JP got into an argument which led to Green punching Jordan in the face.

Not only was the punch disrespectful, but it was also during practice, with all their teammates around! The tension never left their squad. Instead, Jordan Poole had to leave.
Now, nine months after the altercation, Green opened up about it on Patrick Beverley?s podcast.
While on the Pat Bev Podcast, Green said, ?I don?t just hit people. Dialogue of course happens over time. And you usually ain?t just triggered by something like?that fast, to that degree.?

?Like, this is a team. You know what I?m saying, like, ain?t nobody on my team triggering me in an instant. You know, we know stuff that you don?t say amongst men…We know things you have to stand on.?
Given Green?s emphasis when he talked about the things that aren?t said ?amongst grown men?, one can only assumed that there is more to the story.

Many fans and even some analysts predicted that this will be Green?s last season with the Warriors. But in fact, the opposite happened. The Warriors front office parted ways with Poole by trading him to the Washington Wizards.
