Bryce James’ transfer to Sierra is his third transfer in the past 6 months. First, he was in Sierra, then he moved to Campbell Hall in May and subsequently from Campbell Hall to Notre Dame in August. His decision to come back to Sierra indicates his long-term security to pursue his high-school basketball career. But even though this decision is favorable for him, it has had some negative effects as well.

In 2022, Bryce achieved an incredible feat by getting signed to Klutch Sports, the same agency his father is signed to. At the mere age of 15, his valuation was more than $1 million which vaulted him to the top of the high school athlete NIL rankings. Showing his potential through his game and the added advantage of the James family name, he became the highest-valued school player. However, due to his recent decisions, his NIL valuation has dropped by $1.7K bringing his valuation to $1.2 million according to On3.

But, the surprising fact is, even with the drop in his NIL value, Bryce continues to be the #1 ranked high-school athlete. The athlete who is trailing behind the 6’6 giant is Duke commit Cooper Flagg with a valuation of $926,000. Many might argue that Bryce’s value is only high because of his family name and the global influence his father possesses. Although that has aided him in a major way, the 16-year-old rookie has proved time and again how good he is with the ball.
