Unicorn is not a word that we hear every day in the NBA, given that it?s the highest honor one can get. After a significant haul of two years, Kristaps Porzi??is was drafted by the Knicks in 2015. Just two years later, the 7?3″ star made his ‘All-Star appearance’. In 2016, Kevin Durant declared him a ?unicorn? level player.?

Seven years later, Nina Westbrook had a special guest on her episode series ?The Relationship Chronicles with Nina Westbrook?. None other than NBA superstar Russell Westbrook. The couple candidly discussed their relationship, marriage, and parenting. They filled the conversation with laughter, love, and a few surprising revelations.?

Russ is a private person, so it?s not every day that one gets to hear about his private life. Apart from many other things about their relationship, the couple opened up about intimacy. Westbrook revealed, “Pre-game, that doesn’t benefit me. Nah, post-game, it’s like celebratory or like a cheer-up. I go to sleep feeling better about myself.”

Nina showered praises on her husband by the end of their conversations. She acknowledged his passion for their community and his excellence in various roles. She said, ?We have so many friends, such an extended family and network. You have so much passion for your community, our community, and it just shows in everything you do.??

In her final words, she pronounced by saying, ?You (Russell) are excellent and wise beyond your years. Father husband like it?s kinda crazy because you are literally like a unicorn?. As she validates him on a personal level, Russell is indeed a rarest player. He is often a hot subject for these discussions amongst fans. He even makes it to Bill Russell?s ?sixteen unicorns in the NBA history? alongside Kevin Durant.?

Back in 2016, Kevin Durant, then a player for the Thunder, was preparing for a game against the New York Knicks. During a pre-game interview, Durant paid Kristaps Porzingis the ultimate compliment by referring to him as a “unicorn”.

He praised Porzingis for his unique set of skills, saying,

“He can shoot. He can make the right plays, he can defend, he?s a 7-footer that can shoot all the way out to the 3-point line. That?s rare. And block shots?that?s like a unicorn in this league”.?Ever since Durant has christened him with a nickname, Porzingis has embraced it.?
