On the back of his extraordinary performances this season, Edwards has landed a sneaker deal with Adidas. Cue his new sneaker line, the AE1.
Recently in an interview, however, when asked which NBA superstar he would like to see rock his shoes, Edwards’ response was as straight as it could get. To his surprise though, the player’s wish may never be fulfilled.

In an interview with Nice Kicks, Anthony Edwards spoke about his recent sneaker launch, the AE1s. When asked about who he wanted to see wearing his signature shoes, Edwards said, “KD”. He further jokingly added about Durant rocking a pair even though he is tied with Nike, “And he with Nike. I want to see him put on these one time.”

The interviewer laughed and asked Edwards, “In practice or something”? To which Ant firmly stated, “Nah, in the game.” After the clip made its way to X, Kevin Durant hilariously responded to the tweet, saying “Won’t EVER see me put a big toe in them Mfers.” Be that as it may, seems like Anthony Edwards will have to wait for this one. With a $120 price tag, the AE 1 is looking to carve a lane in the basketball shoe scene with its innovative design and a genuine connection with Edwards’ life story.

What is so different with the AE1s?
Adidas collaborations need no introductions. However, this collaboration with Edwards aims to push the boundaries of a performance shoe. Adidas’ majesty in the basketball industry is on a decline and most new superstars want to link up with Nike. Due to that, the German brand is trying to come up with new innovative ideas to attract new consumers and also players.
