The Brooklyn Nets will face the Atlanta Hawks in State Farm arena tonight. This will be the first meeting of the season between the two teams, and fans are hoping for it to be a thrilling encounter. The last time the Nets faced the Hawks in their building, Trae Young put up a magical performance and hit a game-winning buzzer-beater to get Atlanta the win over Brooklyn.

Nets Center Nic Claxton has not forgotten about that devastating loss, and he is out to take revenge on Trae Young and Co.

Claxton was questioned about his mindset ahead of tonight’s game against the Atlanta Hawks by an interviewer. He reminded Claxton about Trae Young?s game-winner the last time Brooklyn met the Hawks in Atlanta. “Oh Man Yeah! Just reminded me about that. We definitely owe them, and that was with a newer team too. So, we got to come out and get some revenge tonight.” Claxton responded. The game took place on February 26 of this year. It was a close encounter that ended with a miraculous shot from Trae Young.

When Claxton mentioned “newer team” he was referring to the changeup in Brooklyn after the trade deadline, which saw superstars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving leave the team.

Young led that game in scoring with 34 points. He hit the game-winning shot over Mikal Bridges and Spencer Dinwiddie and got his team a 129-127 win. Claxton wants to make sure that history does not repeat itself, and they come out with a win tonight. Even though Trae Young and Co. beat Brooklyn in their arena last time, the Nets have won in the last meeting between the two teams. Brooklyn demolished Atlanta at the Barclays Center back in March. So, the score is already even between the two teams.
