The announcement included global superstar Drake, who is also the owner of OVO and a five-time Grammy-winning rapper, along with actor and entrepreneur Michael B. Jordan, and UnitedMasters and Translation founder/CEO Steve Stoute. This move underscores the sport’s rising popularity and the increasing interest of celebrities and business leaders in investing in Major League Pickleball’s future success.

Pickleball, a popular sport blending tennis, Ping-pong, and badminton, has gained immense popularity as a recreational activity, attracting significant investments from entrepreneurs seeking to capitalize on its success. To extend a welcoming gesture to Brooklyn Aces, part owner Kevin Durant took to Twitter to congratulate both Drake and Jordan.

Last year in July, Major League Pickleball (MLP) made headlines again with another round of major investments. The 2010 Super Bowl champion Drew Brees, entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk, Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry, former World No.4 tennis player James Blake, and Ryan Serhant from Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listing” all joined the list of investors supporting the sport’s growth and potential.

However, the league’s immense popularity can be credited to LeBron James as well. Steve Kuhn, the founder of Major League Pickleball, on many occasions, has claimed that James’ investment, along with that of fellow NBA stars Kevin Love and Draymond Green, attracted the attention of billions of people.

In a significant move 10 months ago, Major League Pickleball announced the addition of LeBron James and his business partner, Maverick Carter, to its ownership ranks, alongside NBA champions Green and Kevin Love, among others. The sport’s rising popularity attracted numerous celebrity investors and transformed it into a thriving business. Football legend Tom Brady and 2x NBA champion Kevin Durant also joined as owners in the subsequent months, further solidifying the league’s star-studded ownership roster.

James’ agent, Rich Paul, who is also an investor, admitted a few months earlier that he thinks the sport in America would “eventually [become] a huge deal.”
